During the Autumn and the Winter the canoe excursions are closed for the bad weather
Cooperativa Silva organises, in collaboration with the Maremma Park, guided excursions by Canadian canoes.
The embarking point for the canoe trip is in “La Barca” location, near Alberese. This is a stretch of the river which, up to forty years ago, was travelled by ferry. The banks are initially covered by a thick vegetation of poplars, alders, elms, and willows, while, going down near the artificial bank, the vegetation is low and spread out. Further up, near Spolverino, there are the ruins of an old roman bridge, called Devil’s Bridge.
The Canadian canoes are stabilized canoes, unsinkable. They have been built to give hospitality to not experienced people, children and people who aren't able to swim. It isn't necesary to dress particular clothes, only comfortable clothes and right for different seasons.
